What you should know about SEO before you start paying for it.

Search Engine Optimization is an important consideration for any online company. There are many steps to a good  SEO product, and many SEO products and services on the market.  Companies that buy SEO should (at minimum) verify that they are using appropriate keywords for the products or services that they sell, and verify that those keywords are being indexed by the search engines.  

Unfortunately, SEO is not a guarantee that your site will improve in rank. Many search engine companies don't look favorably on the SEO companies, and actively try to find ways to block SEO products and services from affecting the rankings of a specific site on the search engine result pages.

As a possible customer of an SEO product or client of a company providing SEO services, you should do research up front about your existing keyword ranks. Be especially careful of any product or service provider that guarantees page placement on specific search engines.
